Privacy & your data

Short version: businesses and organisations are listed from public registers. Private residents are never listed unless they create a profile themselves, and anyone can have their profile changed or removed.

Who runs this

The Cedwyn Estate directory is run by the Williams–Buckler family estate office at bucklerfamily.estate (the data controller). Contact us through the join form (choose “Remove a profile” or “Update a profile”), or reply to any email from us.

What we list, and why

Businesses and organisations: name, trading address, website, public business phone or email, opening hours, food hygiene rating, company or charity number, and heritage listings, copied from public sources: Companies House, the Food Standards Agency, the Charity Commission, Cadw, OpenStreetMap and the business's own website. Each profile shows its sources and the date we last checked them. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: a local directory of businesses serving the area. When a company's registered office is a home address we show only the area and postcode district, and we do not copy company officers.

Residents: only what you send us through the join form, and only after you confirm by email and we approve it. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Elected officeholders appear only in their public role.

Emails we send

We may send a business one email to its published business address with a link to its profile and an offer to update it. Every email has a one-line way to opt out; we then send nothing further. We do not send marketing emails to private individuals unless they ask us to.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to it being shown. Use the join form (Remove a profile) and we will act within 30 days, normally much sooner. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: make a complaint on its website.

Storage and retention

Form submissions are stored on Cloudflare (our hosting provider) and copied to the estate office inbox. Submissions that are not approved are deleted after 90 days. Removal requests are kept only as long as needed to show we acted on them.

Membership pilot

Membership is free. Members can read the directory's published rules and vote on changes to them. Any “coins” in the pilot are closed-loop store credit for use with participating members only. They have no cash value and cannot be bought, sold or exchanged.
